Dec 6 - OVA 16U Provincial Cup Tournament
In pool play, the Hurricanes 16U Black placed 2nd of 4 teams. In the first match of Pool Play, the Hurricanes defeated Toronto West in a "back and forth" match: 25-14; 26-28; 15-9. The second match was against The Toronto Aces. The Hurricanes prevailed, with scores of 25-20; 19-25; 15-3. The third match was hard fought, against Georgetown Impact. The Hurricanes were defeated in the third game. The scores were (Hurricanes' scores listed first): 23-25; 26-24; 15-17.

The Hurricanes were re-pooled, first playing the Oakville Thunder, who had won its round robin pool. This was an exciting match, again going to three games. Both teams handily defended some very strong offensive attacks. Our Hurricanes won the match 25-23; 22-25; 16-14.

The final match of the day was against the Etobicoke Titans Blue. Although the Titans had some strong moments, the Hurricanes dominated, winning the match 25-19; 25-17. Congratulations on a great start to the season!

Dec 13 - OVA 17U Provincial Cup
The 16U Black team won their pool in round robin play. Against the Waterloo Tigers 92 Black, our team prevailed in a three game match. The scores were: 25-12; 24-26; 15-9. The second match was with the BVC Strikers. Our Hurricanes won in two relatively close games: 25-20 and 25-21. The 16U Black team then played the Niagara Rapids Blue. The first game was very one-sided for our girls, but the Rapids gave them a good challenge in the second. The scores were 25-7 and 25-21.

Following re-pooling, the Hurricanes were matched up against Thunder White 16U. Our Hurricanes dominated the first game, winning 25-13. The second game was harder fought, but our athletes won 25-21.

The second match in the "playoff" round was against Forest City Blue 16U. Forest City came out swinging and our girls gave away a number of points on serve, to lose the first game 18-25. While the second game was extremely close, Forest City pulled if off and beat our girls, Hurricanes 23, Forest City 25.
