In the Feb 20^th OVA tournament at Brock University, the U16 Blue team continued to show their never-say-die attitude. At the beginning of the year the team set a goal of winning a medal. This goal was achieved when they captured the silver at Brock.

The team's never-quit attitude was on display Saturday afternoon at Brock. Our 16U Blue team has consistently been one that you do not want to play in the elimination rounds. Finishing third in the round robin, it was a large task ahead for the girls to reach their goal and medal. After winning the first elimination match, the girls had to face a very tough Brock squad. The team persevered and took the match in two straight sets to move on to the semi finals. Facing a team in MAC that beat our team two weeks prior in3 sets and knocked HRVC out of medal contention that week, our girls were determined for a better effort and better result. With a gritty and complete team effort they were able to switch the result, taking a third set victory15-13 and moving in to the finals.

With 3 members of the team going down with injury early on in the day, the rest of the team stepped up. After a long day our girls battled in the final but in a hard-fought third set, the team came up a few points shy of the gold. This result just gives the team more motivation to move forward and continue to improve. Great effort girls! We cannot wait to see what 16U Blue can do at Provincials.
